You know the old question: Are you are glass half empty or a glass half full kind of person?
I always wondered what it was about that question that bothered me. Then I heard somebody say, “well, it kind of depends on who is holding the pitcher and doing the pouring.” And I thought, “Bingo!” That person might be generous or stingy. Or I might even be the person holding the pitcher. If I was, that glass was always going to be on the way to being full. Nobody runs out of something to drink at my house.
So I get a bit perturbed when I hear people moaning and groaning about this coming election. “We’re going to lose so bad.” “Republicans are going to take back both Houses of Congress.” “Kemp is going to keep the Governor’s Mansion.” On and on and on. It makes me clench my jaw. (And that’s NOT what my dentist wants me doing. He just fixed two broken crowns. I shatter teeth.)
Yes, it is POSSIBLE for us to lose badly. But only if people keep talking that way and sit down and do NOTHING.
It is also POSSIBLE for us to WIN BIG if we get up and get out and motivate people to go early vote, mail in ballots, or show up on election day. Why?
Democrats + Independents outnumber the Republicans. It’s just math.
If I can get out and talk to people, you can get out and talk to people.
