On This Memorial Day Weekend, A Special Salute To Those Who Fight

There are many ways to fight for freedom. Not all of them involve gunpowder, as one woman showed us with her jar of pickled vegetables that she threw to take out a Russian drone. Courage and imagination can win battles that people thought would go the other way. Sheer determination and the will to stay the course can power incredible feats of bravery.

We are generally sitting over here, safe enough, and cheering the Ukrainian people on as they hitch tractors to tanks and haul them away, or even giggling a little at a wrinkled old woman handing sunflower seeds to Russian soldiers as she tells him “at least you’ll sprout flowers when they bury you.” But it is the awesomeness of their courage that is so amazing. Here is a country that is primarily agricultural that took on a world class power and is beating them at their own game.

I have no idea where this conflict will end, but I have all the admiration I can hold for the people of Ukraine. No matter what happens, their spirit will always remain free. Slavi Ukraine!

Live in west central GA with 5 horses, 2 dachshunds, 3 cats. Life is complicated. Especially when you are an older female living in rural Georgia and the system is definitely rigged against you. God, I've learned to appreciate at least something of what minorities go through. White men are such boar hogs.
